Under The Bridge

No sabía cómo empezar el primer post de este blog, así que empiezo por lo primero. Me llamo Nicol Flores, soy boliviana, tengo 26 años y vivo en Madrid desde hace seis meses. Madrid siempre ha sido una de mis ciudades favoritas (después de Nueva York claro, soy la fan n1 de SATC!), así que cuando tuve la oportunidad de cambiar mi no-tan-interesante vida en Suiza por un año en Madrid no lo pensé dos veces y me subí al primer avión! Y aquí estoy, cursando un Máster en comunicación corporativa y política y sinceramente deseando quedarme en Madrid al terminarlo. 

Por qué decidí crear un blog?
Pues…porque no?  Tengo que admitir que la idea del blog ha estado dando vueltas en mi cabeza desde hace mucho tiempo, así que ya era hora de lanzarme! Como el nombre del blog lo dice, este no es sólo un blog de moda más como hay tantos hoy en día. Sí, claro, hablaré de moda porque es una de mis grandes pasiones! Pero hay muchas otras cosas que me apasionan en la vida y también hablaré de todas ellas…la cocina, la pastelería, los viajes…y claro! Esta hermosa ciudad en la que vivo, sus habitantes, costumbres, mis lugares favoritos………

Estuve rompiéndome la cabeza mucho tiempo tratando de escoger el nombre del blog. Estaba indecisa entre “Not Another Fashionista”, que es más apropiado para el contenido del blog y “Under The Bridge”, que tiene un significado sentimental para mí. Esta canción de los Red Hot Chili Peppers es uno de mis primeros y más fuertes recuerdos de infancia con mi papá, caminando de la mano por las calles de Caracas y cantando esa canción. Por eso y porque es una de mis canciones favoritas de toda la vida, este es mi primer post: Under The Bridge.

Hay muchas otras cosas que podría escribir para presentarme, pero mi primer post sería larguiiiiisimo y demasiado aburrido, así que iremos poco a poco. Creo que es suficiente para un primer post no? Espero que te haya gustado leer este primer post y que vuelvas pronto :)   
Soy novata en esto de escribir en un blog, así que todo comentario, bueno o malo, crítica o lo que sea es bienvenido!

 

I didn’t know how to start my very first blog post, so I’ll start at the beginning. My name is Nicol Flores, I am Bolivian, 26 years old and moved to Madrid six months ago. Madrid has always been one of my favorite cities (after New York of course, I am SATC’s n1 fan!), so when I got the chance to trade my not-so-interesting life in Switzerland for a year in Madrid I didn’t think twice and jumped on the first plane! So here I am, pursuing a Master’s Degree in corporate and political communications and hoping to stay in Madrid afterwards.

Why did I decide to create a blog? Well….why not? I have to admit that this blog idea has been on my mind for a long long time, so it’s time to go for it! As the blog’s name says, this is not just another fashion blog like there are thousands today. Yes, I will talk about fashion because it’s one of my passions! But I’m passionate about many other things in life and I will also talk about them….cooking, baking, travelling….and of course! The gorgeous city where I live, its people, traditions, my favorite places….

I was going nuts for a long time trying to decide my blog’s name. I was hesitating between the actual name which is more appropriate for the content of this blog and “Under The Bridge”, which has a lot of meaning to me. This song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of my first childhood memories with my dad, walking hand in hand around Caracas’ streets and singing this song. So because of that and because it’s one of my favorite songs in life, here is my first post: Under The Bridge.

There are many other things I could write to introduce myself, but my first post would be waaay too long and boring, so we’ll take it step by step. I think it’s enough for a first post, right?
